The Secretary to the Finance Ministry has informed the Elections Commission officially that funding for the Local Government Elections would be difficult due to the current economic crisis in the country.
Meanwhile, earlier today, the casting of postal votes for the elections which was scheduled to be held on 22, 23, 24 and 28 February was postponed, and the new dates are to be announced later, the Elections Commission announced.
